Be intentional and have an honest conversation about what you’ve noticed and your concerns. Listen non-judgmentally (that means not interrupting, telling them how they should/shouldn’t feel/do, and ask for best ways to support.
Be direct and ask “Are you thinking about suicide or killing yourself?
